Our high quality children's homes are in a variety of urban and rural settings, enabling us to offer each child an environment best suited to their individual needs.

  • Accommodation - our young people live predominantly in single occupancy accommodation. This eliminates the pressures of peer group and allows our staff to focus on the needs of the individual child. A small number of our homes provide opportunities for shared living, with a maximum of three residents.
The most suitable option for each young person will be discussed during admission planning.
  • Community - homes are situated in communities, or within reach of small towns and villages. Our living environments enable trust to flourish and help young people to learn respect for their surroundings, as well as their staff team. Our young people are encouraged to take part in local life and use local services.
Although they will attend school with other children in our care, we aim to create a living situation which is non-institutional.
  • Respectful relationships - our staff understand that they must also earn the respect of the young people - with a culture of openness, we encourage young people to share and explore their thoughts and feelings. Mutually respectful relationships between staff and young people are a cornerstone of our work.

Our teams are trained in many specialised areas of practice and encouraged to empathise with the experience of a child living away from their family. Only when we try to understand a child's internal world - the thoughts, feelings and emotions evoked as part of their daily routine -can we confidently enter and influence that world.
