Enquiries regarding placement are directed immediately to one of our Directors or Senior Case Holding Managers.

The process begins with a detailed conversation about the young person - their needs, the potential suitability for placement, and discussion of possible vacancies. It is usually possible at this stage to give a decision in principle about whether we can offer a suitable package of education, care and therapeutic input.

We will then ensure that the placing authority receives all the information needed from us to make a formal referral. Once we have received a completed referral form, together with relevant supporting documentation, we can progress to a professionals meeting. This is followed by introductory visits with the young person, once funding has been approved.

Placement planning can take as little as four hours, for one of our emergency response placements, and as long as six months, where we might be setting up a new programme for a young person with very specific needs.

The key to a successful admission is a thorough exchange of information to enable good pre-placement planning and risk assessment to take place, and crucially the engagement of the young person, who must choose to be placed with us.
