Measuring Outcomes and Delivering Best Value

Our multi-dimensional outcome measurement model (M-DOMM) is used across all our services to track the progress of our young people in placement and help placing authorities demonstrate best value.

Any measurement system can be arbitrary and can be counter productive when the achievement of imposed targets eclipses the wider objectives. However any service which purports to have clear outcome objectives should be capable of demonstrating these outcomes through an appropriate system of audit.

Our model gives a holistic overview of how our services are helping extremely complex and disturbed children and providing best value to purchasing agencies.

M-DOMM assists us and our placing authorities

  • to place young people against a wider sample population, helping us to set reasonable expectations about what a ‘good outcome’ might look like
  • to monitor factors relating specifically to their mental health and well-being
  • to ensure they are meeting individual targets defined within the Every Child Matters (ECM) outcomes for children framework
  • to provide clinical scores which offer objective information about their psychological profile and progress
